Beard Elementary

Here starts our visit to Bob Beard Elementary in Northside ISD.

Mark Rustan is the Principal and is helping his staff to work with the Visioning Document (
http://www.transformtexas.org/the-visioning-document/). He joined the Principals' Institute during the first institute (P1) and I am currently working in the third institute (P3).  With his staff currently focused on "Organizational Transformation". They are focused on making sure they answer the question, "how will learning look different next year"? That would be a good question for us to think about as we move to our new campus.

We are working on "The New Digital Learning Environment", moving from the consumption of technology to the creation of it.

Okay...back to the visit!

Tellagami and QR codes to learn and teach each other about fractions in Miss. Bunn's classroom.

Screenshot of the video.

GT hard at work in Mrs. Chervinskis class.

Apps used to develop their work (yes the QR codes work...try them).

Aurasma used to bring the lesson to life!

Time for some creation of learning in Mrs. Robles's class.

Here is the turn in basket for students!

The mini iPads can have work sent to one another using "AirDrop". Okay 2nd and 3rd, I do believe you have a few mini iPads!

Mrs. Spiekerman has lessons and activities preloaded for students to acess and some lessons are flipped. If students were unable to view, blog, or comment the night before they can come in the morning before school.

Not every student has technology, but they are more then willing to share.

Graphing data.

Using real world questions and student input to make the lesson more engaging.

Miss. Bunn is also designing flipped lessons for her students.

She looks for resources that will meet the needs for digital learners.

I will be looking at sending a small team of teachers to visit and bring back ideas, blog, and train us on how we can create learning.

TCEA 2014

Here is where I started my five mile walk.

Short Throw projector from Epson.

Short Throw projector from Boxlight.

Comic Life for the iPad looks great!

Remind 101 will soon be able to attach files (PDF type - maps, newsletters, etc...).

Lenovo computer to place behind your large flat screens in the common areas.

Acer also had a small footprint computer.

How about coding with a robot? Here is the S2 Robot for under $130.

And so ends my five mile walk with some ideas to share and my brain about to pop!
